About DeTar Health System
For over seven decades, DeTar Hospital has been Victoria's leader in the constantly progressing world of healthcare. Founded by the DeTar Family in 1925, the fully accredited, 217-bed hospital provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services for the nine-county Victoria region.

Today, the DeTar Healthcare System provides healthcare services in 10 locations to over 22,500 people a month. In a recent survey by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization, an independent group which surveys hospitals nationwide to measure standards of care and quality, DeTar received Accreditation with Commendation with a survey score of 100. In 1995, only 20 of over 1600 hospitals surveyed received 100, the highest score possible.

DeTar's entire team strives to meet the changing medical needs of the community. With today's shift to shorter hospital stays, DeTar provides the most extensive outpatient surgery department in Victoria. In terms of preventative medicine, DeTar's Cardiac Cath Lab offers diagnostic testing of heart problems while the DeTar Health Center provides a wide range of fitness and wellness programs. As always, DeTar continues to set the standard with our Family Center by offering a family-centered approach with specially trained nurses and comfortable, home-like birthing suites. In addition, DeTar Healthcare System provides services through our Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, After-Hours Center, Medical Imaging, Laboratory Department, Cardiopulmonary Department, Mammography, Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing Center, Home Health, and the Renaissance Center for elderly patients. DeTar's Medworks Program provides employment screening, job-site analysis, drug screening programs and a cost-effective manner to treat injured employees, including pain management.

As a community partner for over 70 years, the DeTar Healthcare System maintains deep roots in the area through involvement and support. Over the years, the hospital has added millions of dollars to the local tax rolls, as well as provided thousands of patients with no-cost and low-cost care. As one of the region's oldest medical institutions, DeTar continuously meets healthcare needs with compassionate treatment state-of-the-art technology, and a competent staff of professionals.
