Evidence Based Medicine
Evidence Based Medicine is an approach that integrates the best external evidence with individual clinical expertise and patient care. The practice of evidence based medicine means integrating the proficiency and judgment that individual clinicians acquire through clinical experience and clinical practice with the best available external clinical evidence from systematic research. Evidence Based Medicine determines the appropriate diagnoses and treatments based on research results and evidence of effectiveness.
The Evidence Based Medicine Committee at DeTar Hospital, which is made up of Physicians, Administration, Resource/Case Management, Quality Management & Ancillary Departments, are in the process of formulating the Evidence Based Medicine modules. Each module will be presented to the Medical Section Departments for validation. After validation from each department, they will then be presented to our Medical Executive Committee.
The overall objective is to strive for clear concise guidelines for each Evidence Based Medicine module for quality care and patient satisfaction.
